Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories

Article marketing is such a hot area online right now, and of course I like that, but I like even more the idea that it is basically fad proof. You see, the problem with most of the fads online, especially the ones that make people a lot of money, end up being automated and the cat is let out of the bag, and everybody and their uncle starts doing the fad, and after awhile it is burnt out and there is very little money left in the fad.

The thing about article marketing is that it is basically fad proof. The reason for this is that article writing cannot be automated by computers. Sure, content can be automated, but not real articles. And it is real articles that make article marketing happen. Well, at least the first half of the equation.

Real articles are the root to article generated traffic, traffic that comes directly from the article directories. People have to read the articles, and click through and if the article is some computer generated junk, then they arent going to click through. So that half is fad proof at least.

Now, the second way is that of generating backlinks by writing articles and submitting them to article directories.

Now, this has tendencies to becoming a fad, but the problem is, if the content is just computer generated, the search engines tend to eventually ban the content, so articles submitted to article directories that accept computer generated articles generally will not get indexed correctly for the article marketing purposes. This makes article marketing by sheer hard work very attractive for the person who is not chasing one get-rich-quick scheme after another, and wants to generate long term internet income.

Let me share a short, but true story:

Earlier this week, a new author sent in 15 articles to our article directory, EzineArticles.com.

Those 15 articles received 400 page views within the past 24 hours.

Assuming that rate held constant, that author would receive 12,000 page views per month or 144,000 page views per year without lifting one more finger, not including the distribution potential of our site.

The average person clicks 3.3% on the resource box based on seed articles that we track the CTR (Click Through Rate), give or take .6% either way. Let's use 3% for easy numbers.

144,000+ page views annually x 3% CTR = 4,320 targeted clicks by someone who is already pre-qualified to be interested in your product, service or website because they just read your article.

Average CPC (Cost Per Click) ranges from .05 to $1.25.

Let's pretend that you buy clicks from your favorite PPC (PayPerClick) provider for $.40 cents per click.

Those 4,320 clicks that EzineArticles sent you for free just saved you (4,320 x $.40)= $1,728 USD.

Send in 30 articles, and you could be seeing $3k worth of FREE advertising or more.

My best example are the chart breakers like one of the health and beauty authors who sent in 35 articles and has over 212k page views in the last year. Recently a handful of authors received over 20,000 page views in their first month with only 3 articles that mentioned current events topics as part of their content. Your results may vary.

Which brings me to this question:

If you knew without a shadow of a doubt that you could get $10k-$25k+ in free advertising for 1-2 weeks of work submitting 85-200 articles, would you do it?

Average editor makes $10/hr. 100 hours of work would be about $1,000 in admin labor and I assume you already have the articles produced from your current archives that just need to be repurposed. Net result is about a $19k profit via the savings of not having to spend it to acquire sales via traditional online advertising.

Obviously, if you have to invest your time and labor to produce the articles for the first time, this adds to your cost... but most folks already have 100+ articles in an archive somewhere.

Should you stop PPC advertising now because of this? Absolutely not. Let article marketing supplement your targeted traffic buying campaigns, not replace it. For many entrepreneurs who have not started to buy advertising on a PPC basis, this is a great way to begin thinking about it.

Lastly, did I mention that your articles keep selling for you, day after day, month after month, and year after year? Its true.

Get a plan together; submit 15, 150, or 1,500+ articles this month to the major article directories and specialty niche sites that accept your quality original content, and then sit back and watch your traffic results climb while your advertising expenditure budget gets a little relief.

Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories

The combined application of several effective successful home based business strategies working together can create a foundation of unstoppable, targeted web site traffic, that leads to being able to stop working on your web site alltogether and start enjoying life-time of automatic residual profits.

This is the ultimate goal of all successful home based business marketers.

All internet marketing tools and tips are already invented. There are a lot of internet marketers, who have already done the success and reached their goals. When you now want to run a successful home based business, just pick the strategies, that fit for you. You can reach the success by only one strategy or combining a few of them.

Pick from these successful home based business strategies

1.Know your web site. This is the starting point. The affiliate must know the details and the culture of the web site, which is his online store, to be able to promote it in the right way and to the right target audience.

2.Select an email automatic responder. An effective idea is to automate your actions as much as possible, because it will give you more time to run more actions for your successful home based business. Make sure your affiliate program`s principal can offer a well-written and long lasting direct email marketing campaign. Select an email automatic responder with a rich selection of features, for instance a possibility to send broadcast.

3.Tell all your friends. Distribute the word to all family and other friends, that you have started and will run a successful home based business and ask if they can help a little bit".

4.Collect optin email leads. The fortune is in your optin email list. That`s true! The best way to build the optin email list is through a form on the web site, where web site visitors can type their name and email address. Now your email automatic responder starts to send direct email marketing campaign during a long period of time. 5.Post to internet marketing forums. If you want to run a successful home based business, go to internet marketing forums, like The WarriorForum, where you`ll meet the most successful internet home business marketers and will get the tips you need.

6.Advertise with Google AdWords. Over 100 million people all over the world use Google on every day. Google AdWords is the best way to get targeted web site traffic to your successful home based business with a modest budget.

7.Write affiliate marketing articles. Why? Because affiliate marketing articles, when they are SEO articles, will bring two effective things to your successful home based business: pre-sold and targeted web site traffic and they will increase search engine ranking by building links,i.e. Backlinks from article directories and related web sites. And affiliate marketing articles work long term.

8.Blogging for business. A blog is like a web site but much easier to start. No domain name is needed and it`s free. To start a blog takes only a few minutes and you can publish the same kind of material as in your affiliate marketing articles.

9.Build links with the related web sites. The links are your internet business relations, which will bring targeted web site traffic and a possibility to increase search engine ranking. Residual links means links between two sites. Even more important are one way or backlinks, i.e. links from other web sites to your site. I want still to emphasis the importance of internet marketing forum, when you`select the strategies for you. When you have done that, then JUST DO IT!

Making Money with Your Blog!

A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!

A well-written article generates 0 ROI if it doesn't see the light of day. Hopefully you've crafted your article with best practices in mind. It's focused, informative, and sales-free. Unfortunately writing is only half the battle. Now you have to find a market for your article.

Luckily, if you've written a good article, there are a number of places that might be interested in publishing it. With a little work, you can gain exposure far beyond the usual article directories.

Consider your audience

Think in terms of demographics. You're looking for groups here, preferably groups with websites, newsletters, and knowledge bases dedicated to serving them. Soccer moms, chief information officers, mountain climbers, and plant managers all have publications catering to their needs. Make a list of people who are most likely to be interested in the topic you cover in your article (which should relate to your business).

Your name in print

Once you have identified your audience, you need to find out what they're reading. Trade magazines, consumer magazines and other publications abound, reaching business and consumer audiences alike. Organizations publish journals or newsletters to reach their members. Online magazines and knowledge bases across the Internet are serving up articles just like yours every day. If you are having trouble finding publications that serve your audience, you may have to expand your sights to include larger groups.

Look beyond the traditional media outlets

The Internet has opened the floodgates on information tailored to specific groups. Writing for Internet audiences allows you to target niches that would have been extremely difficult to reach before. There are several unique areas that may accept articles.

Link partners could benefit from publishing helpful articles. An offer to submit helpful content to their website comes as a much more attractive offer than a traditional link-swap. Visitors are more likely to click the link at the bottom of your article if they enjoyed reading your piece as well.

Directories are another non-traditional distribution point. These can be an excellent target, as they are already favored by search engines and could be looking for a way to entice more visitors to their site with helpful content like yours. Your article

Ezines offer access to prospective clients via email, in a format they know and trust. This is a great way to build credibility and get your name in front of clients. Ezines often have online archives too, so you can get double the exposure for your article.

Read the writers' guidelines

Many publications have writers' guidelines available. These invaluable documents describe the kind of topics, tone and length the publication prefers for its submissions. These guidelines also let you know what format you should be taking with your article, and how to contact the appropriate editor.

Pitching editors: What's in it for them?

Always, always, always send a query letter before sending your article. Explain your topic and several points you cover in your piece. If you have relevant credentials that make you an expert author, go ahead and mention them. Depending on your audience, you can pitch your article to several publications. However, it is crucial to tailor your query letter to each editor.

You want to show the editors how your piece would benefit the specific audience of their publication. Look over the publication to get an idea of the kind of pieces they typically run. If your article seems like it would fit, then you have a good target. If not, you may need to tweak your piece to work more seamlessly.

Numbers game

Don't distribute your article to only one publication, then sit back and congratulate yourself while you wait for the response email to grace your inbox. Editors are very busy people. It can take anywhere from several days to a month to hear back from them, maybe more, depending on how big the magazine is.

Send your article to several publications and see what response you get. If you get a response from more than one publication, see what their policy is about simultaneous submissions or if they require exclusive content.

Article marketing done well can be challenging, but ultimately rewarding. If you've written a good piece and pitched it well, you have a good chance of getting your name into print. Follow these guidelines and your company could gain free publicity that paying advertisers could only dream of.

Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories

Yes and no.

First off: a warning: never submit any articles to any directories if you are going to have the article hosted on your own web site.

You will find that your web site will stop showing in the search engine rankings because the search engines will assume that the articles you submit belong to the article directories, not to you, since the article directories generally have a higher pagerank than you do, and are spidered more frequently. This will generally result in the search engines assuming the article originated with the article directory rather than your own web site, and your web site will not be ranked highly for that page. If you have a lot of pages that fall under this penalty (sometimes know as the duplicate content penalty), your web site will eventually simply not show in search engine rankings.

Now, to the question at hand: can you submit the same articles to multiple directories.

In theory, the answer is no...the search engines will flag all but one of the articles as duplicate content, and they won't give you credit for the inbound link.

In reality...if you submit the same article to 150 article directories within a short period of time, for example 2 days, you will probably find that you not only get about 50 new inbound links from the article directories themselves, but also some inbound links from web sites which choose to host your article on their web site, as a result of finding your article on an article directory.
